Marisa Alexander is the Co-Executive Director of Food Secure Canada, a national alliance advancing food sovereignty, climate justice, and equitable access to nutritious food. She leads efforts to build a more just and sustainable food system by centering the voices of Black, Indigenous, and low-income communities in national policy conversations. Under her leadership, the organization coordinates the Coalition for Healthy School Food and advocates for a universal school food program grounded in community-led solutions. Marisa’s work also affirms Indigenous rights and supports food system decolonization across unceded territories.
