'The Display Kid' with Sam Visram

'The Display Kid' with Sam Visram
Podcast Description
It’s something I got called many years back in a derogatory way......
"You're the Display Kid that's come to make our store look pretty!"
But now I kind of like it.........
I guess all Visual Merchandisers can relate to the concept of being called: “The Display Kid”. We all have our own version.
For this reason I decided to set up a podcast series where I'll be connecting with leaders within the visual merchandising space. We'll be talking through the personal and professional stories that have shaped them into the creative humans they are now.

In this episode of The Display Kid, I’m joined by Joshua Blake, Visual Merchandising Executive Consultant, as we unpack evolving values, leading with care, and redefining where we find our worth. We talk fatherhood, self-sabotage, and how leadership becomes less about control and more about trust. From the paradox of VM being both overlooked and essential, to finding identity beyond being needed, this one’s about letting go, stepping back, and still showing up with impact.
