Why BMI is inaccurate and misleading? If someone is overweight, there may be numerous factors at work, meaning it’s not due to poor discipline or willpower. BMI can trigger eating disorders and should be scrapped. As women, our bodies start being judged from a young age and become more targeted as we go through puberty. The size of our breasts, our body shape, weight, height, even our hair colour, style and skin colour are all under scrutiny. We are being compared to others and often to some invisible person or standard that does more to hinder our confidence than anything else. In this episode of Pop Shots, Sakshi Sindwani, fondly referred to as Style me up with Sakshi and Garima discuss the lie BMI is.
Season 3, EmpowHER edition, is in support of UN Women and Community Partners- SheThePeople.
