Dr. Kim Manlangit is a doctor of physical therapy who owns and operates Lakas Physical Therapy and Performance in Sacramento. But more than that, Kim and her team are redefining physical therapy through a truly patient-centered approach.
From a young age, Kim had a passion for being active and playing sports, especially basketball. After sustaining not just one, but two ACL tears in short succession, Kim was left without any real guidance or support on how to get back to playing the sport she loved. And after a lot of trial, error, successes, and failures, Kim decided to put everything she learned along the way about rehabbing and getting back to sports into helping others like herself get out of pain and back to living their best life.
Upon graduating physical therapy school and working at a couple of clinics to gain experience, Kim opened Lakas to create an environment where the client comes first, and the therapists are able to give them time, attention, and truly personalized guidance to help them achieve their goals; because Kim knows what it's like to be in their shoes.
Through their motto of ”find strength in your story”, the team at Lakas is going beyond traditional physical therapy and beyond just getting people out of pain. They are inspiring a community of patients and practitioners alike to be the best they can be by truly caring, or actually giving a f*** about the people around them. And that is the key to their success, aka, the ”give a f*** factor”.
If you would like to connect with Kim or any of the team at Lakas Physical Therapy and Performance, you can find them at their website as well as on Instagram below:
