Brooke Foss Westcott and his pupil Fenton John Anthony Hort were trapped in a century of doubt. They were convinced that the KJV, and its underlying Greek, were falsified. While still in their twenties, they wrote in ink their desires to change the Bible in English. And by the end of their lives, they accomplished their lifelong dream, completing the English Revised Version in 1881, along with their own Greek New Testament. This ushered in the surge of modern versions.
Today, virtually all modern versions stem back to Westcott and Hort’s scholarship and influence. Did God send these two men to “fix the errors” in our English Bible? Or has Satan duped the body of Christ into abandoning God’s preserved word?
David W. Daniels, author of “Westcott & Hort: From Faith to Doubt” joins us as we discuss the life of B.F. Westcott, the world he lived in, and how his journey from faith to doubt has translated into the entire body of Christ.
⚡️ Discussion on Westcott & Hort begins at timestamp 36:40

And I have heard of thee, that thou canst make interpretations, and dissolve doubts: now if thou canst read the writing, and make known to me the interpretation thereof, thou shalt be clothed with scarlet, and have a chain of gold about thy neck, and shalt be the third ruler in the kingdom. Then Daniel answered and said before the king, Let thy gifts be to thyself, and give thy rewards to another; yet I will read the writing unto the king, and make known to him the interpretation. Daniel 5:16-17
Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.
Jeremiah 17:5
And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
Matthew 7:28-29
