In this powerful episode of Waking Up to Heaven, Christopher Trivette shares a testimony that could only be written by God.
Born in Latvia after the fall of the Soviet Union, Christopher entered the world into broken circumstances. At just six months old, his mother attempted to take his life, leaving him with severe brain trauma that required doctors to remove one-third of his brain. After surviving emergency surgery, he was placed into a neglected orphanage where he lived until adoption.
Through a series of divine connections, mission work, and miraculous provision, an American family adopted him — along with another child — through funds donated entirely by churches and believers. What followed was a journey of healing, identity struggles, behavioral challenges, family divorce, chronic illness, and eventually a calling to preach the Gospel at just 15 years old.
In this episode, we discuss:
• Survival after severe brain injury
• Life inside a third-world orphanage
• Adoption and attachment trauma
• Overcoming anger and abandonment
• Crohn’s disease and chronic illness
• The power of daily grace
• Living as a victor, not a victim
Christopher’s story is a reminder that no circumstance is wasted and no life is accidental. Romans 8:28 declares that all things work together for good — and this testimony is living proof.
If you’ve ever struggled with trauma, rejection, health battles, or questions about your purpose, this conversation will encourage you to ask God for grace — one day at a time.
