Amy was diagnosed during emergency surgery for suspected appendicitis, only to discover that her chronic was caused by endometriosis and large cysts.
After a heartbreaking gynaecology appointment, Amy had no choice but to throw herself into research and become an expert on her condition. Her journey includes paying for private surgery, discovering a transformative hormonal treatment and fighting to get the organ saving treatment she desperately needs,
Amy shares her challenges of accessing the right care through the NHS, the importance of finding specialist support, and the reality of symptoms such as ‘endo belly’. We discuss the life changing decisions you’re forced to make as an endometriosis warrior and how the disease affects intimacy in relationships.
