In this episode, I attended the Jehovah’s Witness Memorial Supper and spoke with someone who said she is part of the “anointed class” (the 144,000). We explore what led her to that belief and how she thinks about Jehovah’s Witness teaching on the anointed over time. Along the way, we discuss key passages and themes including Revelation 14, the purpose of Christ’s death, and Jehovah’s Witness beliefs about Jesus as God’s “only-begotten Son,” his role in creation, and Isaiah 9:6 (“Mighty God”).
