Paul Wilson, linguist, diplomat, author, and current Master of The Stationers’ Company talks to Georgina, diving deep into the varied roles he’s held over the course of his career.
Paul shares stories from the Army School of Languages and Spandau Prison, and describes meeting Ahmad Shah Massoud in Afghanistan in the 90s. He takes us behind the scenes of printing currencies with De La Rue, and reveals his scepticism on the future of digital money. Plus, we learn from Paul that having a swimming pool might not be the dream after all, and hear how, once upon a time, the thought of a holiday to Mauritius felt like work (…until he got there!)
