In episode 38, I sit down with Hayden Bridger, the man behind the famous Hayden’s Pies.
Starting out as a chef, Hayden eventually took the leap into opening his own pie shop, with plenty of long days, tears and triumphs along the way. We chat about becoming a pie maker, developing new recipes, building the business alongside his family, and creating and selling his own recipe book. Hayden also talks about buying his dream bush property and building his dream home, before experiencing some pretty scary times during the Black Summer bushfires. We get into his experiences with generational mental health and suicide, and how those experiences have shaped his life. It’s an honest look at the highs and lows behind the business and the life he’s built around it.
