My guest this episode is artist and mythicist, Tammy Wampler, hailing from Kentucky (which I learned is not only the heart of bluegrass music, but also the homeland of the fastest horses.) One of Tammy’s published works is the oracle deck and guidebook, The Maidens of the Wheel.

In this conversation, Tammy discusses the recognition of her un-trained artistic gifts and her understanding of the encoded female thread through mythology and history and culture.

Dissolution seems to be a recurring theme amongst my guests, maybe because I have a couple symbols for that process, or maybe it’s because this is a collective theme right now. It’s so interesting to observe the choices of others, without influence from myself. Anyway…here we are again in a watery conversation. (Fine with me, I love swimming and bathing!) But Tammy turns her informing toward the collective unconscious with layers of ancient stories about goddesses and fairytales. As someone who fashioned her earlier education around “becoming Joseph Campbell,” Tammy followed her own bliss of learning about the feminine stories and patterns in mythic traditions…while teaching herself to draw and paint beautiful portraits.

Her passion, knowledge, and talent have come together in the oracle deck published by Blue Angel Press, called “The Maidens of the Wheel,” which you can order HERE (as well as perusing more of her gorgeous artwork.)
