From tearing it up on the Division 1 fields of Santa Clara University to continuing his stellar college career at Seattle University, followed by professional stints with the Portland Timbers and FC Edmonton in the NASL, Mutanda’s playing days were marked by talent and dedication. Fueled by a desire to nurture the next generation, he transitioned into coaching, earning his USSF license and making a significant impact at the Columbus Crew Academy, WA Elite Player Development, Blackhills FC, and beyond. Now an assistant coach at Ballard FC in the UPSL 2 and the driving force behind The Rising Point, a program dedicated to developing young talent and building community, Mutanda, at just 38 years young, is leaving an indelible mark on the game.
