Her story is one of shock, courage and hope. It's a journey that Alannah never thought she would have to take. Determined and brave, she has shown unending resilience and a willingness to fight her illness under the excellent care of Professor Donncha O'Brien in Beaumont hospital, Dublin.
Supported by her partner Patrick and her wider family, Alannah is currently undergoing a 12 month programme of chemotherapy. She is absolutely determined to resume a normal life when this is over but in the meantime she is continuing to make memories with her family.
This is Alannah's journey.
