We'll discuss our favorite ideas, toughest interpretations, and greatest lessons from the good book; and try to grasp what it might have to say about the cultural & personal circumstances of today’s day & age.

In today’s episode of Cast Your Nets, BigTuna is joined by the excellent Grant Brooks to discuss 1 Kings 18, involving Elijah’s confrontation with King Ahab and the prophets of Baal. Together, they examine how God’s character is revealed through the passage’s narrative (esp. his mercy), the Bible’s description of generational and/or national wickedness, Fire as a key thematic element in the Bible, how deep Israel’s betrayal of God actually was, why marriage can be used as an analogy of God and his People, why God has a People, and much more.
