ZENON is a Calgary soul artist whose music blends blues, R&B, theatre, pop, and lived experience into something deeply personal.
In this episode, ZENON talks about growing up around music, performing from a young age, attending Berklee College of Music, and what happened when their relationship with music started to fall apart after returning home.
The conversation centers on ZENON's debut album, Redecorating My Mind – a project shaped by unhealthy relationship patterns, therapy, self-discovery, and the process of rebuilding the way you see yourself. ZENON also talks about working with Dempsey Bolton, writing songs over several years, and why the album is meant to be heard in order.
We also get into Calgary's music community, genre labels, YYC Music Awards, Christmas Arizona, writing for musical theatre, and the curiosity that connects everything ZENON creates.
