There are things you can lose and replace, and things you can lose forever if you’re not careful. Paul tells Timothy to guard the good deposit, the gospel entrusted to him through his grandmother Lois and his mother Eunice. But guarding the deposit doesn’t mean guarding a decade, a style, or a set of preferences. It means remembering what God has done and refusing to let familiarity steal the wonder of it.
In this message, we look at how easily faith can be inherited without ever being owned, how familiarity can make holy things feel ordinary, and what it looks like to remember, guard, and hand off what God has shown us before it’s too late.
