Barbie Rodriguez is a lung cancer survivor from the Bronx, and she has quite the story to tell!
After giving her life to Jesus and quitting smoking after 35 years, Barbie felt prompted to get her lungs checked, even though she had no symptoms. What followed was a stage 3 lung cancer diagnosis, surgery, and months of chemotherapy.
In this conversation, Barbie shares how her new relationship with Jesus carried her through cancer, why she’s so passionate about gratitude, and what it’s like when the world expects you to just move on after treatment.
I loved Barbie’s honesty, her humour, and especially her heart for people who feel alone in their cancer experience.
