On today's episode of the College Lacrosse Show, Dan and Donny discuss the incredible quarterfinal weekend and preview the 2025 Men's Lacrosse Final Four!
In the first game, Cornell went toe-to-toe with a talented Richmond team and used transition goals to supplement an offence that was mostly held in check by the Richmond defence.
Then Syracuse and Princeton had an instant classic, with 37 combined goals and 18 combined goal-scorers. Joey Spallina provided the greatest performance of his Syracuse career, dominating his matchup on the way to 4 goals and 4 assists. He also let the haters know about it after the game, which may or may not include the CLS boys.
Penn State provided some heroics, doing everything you shouldn't do against Notre Dame before pulling off an incredible late-game rally to unseat the king of college lacrosse. The boys spend some time discussing the end of the Kavanagh era and this historic run from the Irish.
Then in the finale, John Tillman and the Maryland Terrapins did what they do, improving to 12-1 in the quarterfinals in the Tillman era. They suffocated a previously red-hot Georgetown offence and advanced to their second straight Final Four, and fourth in five years.
Then we look ahead to the upcoming matchups, including Penn State's use of zone, Syracuse's matchup decisions, and the massive importance of faceoffs and goaltenders.
We hope you enjoy this episode, don't forget to like, comment and subscribe!
