Have you ever been so overwhelmed by life that you tried to take control—and ended up making things worse?<br><br>

When frustration, anxiety, grief, and disappointment begin to build, it's easy to feel internally ”sped up.” We react more quickly, lose our patience, and sometimes make decisions that carry consequences far beyond the moment.<br><br>

Even Moses experienced this.<br><br>

In this message, Mike Donohue continues our series on Moses by exploring Numbers 20:1–13, where Moses faces another frustrated crowd demanding water in the wilderness. God gives him clear instructions, but Moses, overwhelmed by anger, takes matters into his own hands.<br><br>

Water still flows from the rock, but Moses' actions come with unexpected consequences.<br><br>

Moses had spent years faithfully leading Israel through the wilderness. But the weight of leadership, personal loss, and constant frustration took its toll.<br><br>

When God instructed him to speak to the rock, Moses instead struck it twice.<br><br>

The people still received the water they needed, but Moses would no longer be the one to lead them into the Promised Land.<br><br>

It's a difficult story, especially when we consider how much Moses had already endured. Yet it reminds us of something important: <strong>God's grace doesn't mean our choices are without consequences.</strong><br><br>

Sometimes those consequences are precisely what slow us down long enough to recognize our need for God.<br><br>

And even in Moses' disappointment, God's grace was still at work. The water continued to flow. Moses was allowed to see the Promised Land. And centuries later, he appeared alongside Jesus at the Transfiguration.<br><br>

The same is true for us. Our mistakes and failures don't have to be the end of our story.<br><br>

<strong>”Because you did not trust me enough to demonstrate my holiness to the people of Israel, you will not lead them into the land I am giving them.” — Numbers 20:12</strong><br><br>

God doesn't simply want us to achieve the right results. He wants us to trust Him in the process.<br><br>
