In this episode, I sit down with the incredible Larry and Gary Lane — actors, film directors, screen writers, producers, entrepreneurs, and storytellers – for a conversation that left me laughing, learning, and deeply moved.
You may know them as The Lane Brothers, the creative force behind the powerful documentary Still Working 9 to 5 – a film that honors the legacy of the iconic movie 9 to 5 while uncovering the real-life movement that sparked change for women in the workplace. What began as a love letter to a beloved film turned into a six-year journey of storytelling, courage, activism, and hope.
Together, we talk about the heart behind the documentary, the incredible women who shaped it – including Dolly Parton, Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin and so many others – and why this story still matters more than ever. We explore the power of laughter as a gateway to learning, the role men play in advocating for equality, and how curiosity can replace fear when we allow ourselves to TRULY LISTEN.
This conversation is for anyone who:
🕊️ Loves stories that blend heart, humor, and history.
🕊️ Wants to better understand the women’s movement and workplace equality.
🕊️ Believes in using creativity as a force for good.
🕊️ Enjoys a behind-the-scenes look at filmmaking, entrepreneurship, and purpose-driven work.
Most of all, this episode is an invitation – to LEARN, REFLECT, CELEBRATE progress, and to recognize that there is still beautiful work left to do. Larry and Gary remind us that storytelling can change hearts, spark movements, and bring people together in ways nothing else can.
This one is special, so settle in – I know you’ll walk away inspired.
Love and prayers,
Carroll 💙
