Ben’s ADHD Journey
In this episode of ADH3, we take a deep dive into Ben’s story—his childhood, the unique challenges he faced, and the winding path that led him to question whether ADHD was really the answer to what he was experiencing. From growing up somewhat isolated, yet content in his own world, to navigating life by ‘masking’ his struggles without even realizing it, Ben opens up about his journey of self-discovery.
Unlike many who feel out of place as kids, Ben didn’t necessarily see his differences as a bad thing. He wasn’t the most social, but he never minded having a small circle—or sometimes, no circle at all. It wasn’t until adulthood that he started questioning why certain things felt harder for him than they seemed to be for others. When he finally took a trip to the doctor, the diagnosis he received didn’t quite sit right, leading him down a road of exploration, self-reflection, and a search for the real reason behind the way he felt.
Throughout the episode, Rachel and Rob jump in with questions, insights, and, of course, plenty of laughs. If you’ve ever questioned your own diagnosis—or felt like there’s more to your story than what’s on paper—this episode is for you. Tune in for an honest, funny, and deeply relatable conversation about identity, self-acceptance, and the complexities of figuring out what truly makes you you.
