Samples of their music can still be heard today. Common's song, ”Testify” samples their song ”Innocent Until Proven Guilty”. Their most famous song, however, was ”Want Ads” reaching #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1971. Shelly opens up about being a child star, singing and touring with Cab Calloway and how her father played a pivotal role in her development as a performer. She is very candid about her time as an Ikette with The Ike and Tina Turner Revue. She lets us in on what it means to maintain ones integrity while still pursuing a dream.
