I sat down with a fellow Tuskegee Alumna and birth doula Khaleah to discuss nursing school, holistic medicine practices, natural birth transparency AND the importance of having someone to advocate for you during childbirth. Black women face the highest mortality rates related to live births compared to women of other races and we are often not as supported during these births. Being aware is truly the key.
