My day started by landing in LA and driving straight from the airport to sit down with photography legend Estevan Oriol for Episode 60 of BTW2LINES. Estevan’s story is incredible. He went from working the doors at LA hip-hop clubs to touring with Cypress Hill and House of Pain, where he began documenting life on the road. Over the last three decades, his raw and unmistakable photography has helped define the visual identity of Los Angeles—capturing everything from lowrider, tattoo and street culture to some of the biggest names in music and entertainment. We talked all things photography, his years working closely with Cypress Hill, directing iconic Blink-182 videos like “Down” and “Not Now,” and the stories behind his powerful photographs taken inside an Afghan prison during the war.Estevan has lived a life most photographers could only dream of, but what stood out most was how real, humble and passionate he remains about documenting culture and preserving history. This conversation was truly epic.Episode 60 of BTW2LINES featuring Estevan Oriol. Tap in!
