What a treat I have this week :)
This week’s episode features not one, but TWO Kentucky teachers turned published authors!
Carissa Turpin, a teacher from Irvine, KY recently published her newest children’s chap book A Mess of Monsters in September. Though it’s primarily a read for tweens, I can attest it’s truly a delightful read for any age!
I also chatted with Willie Carver, another Kentucky author (and my cousin!) about his book Tore All to Pieces, which focuses much of its storytelling on women who often don’t get their flowers or time in the spotlight. Willie also has a new book The Red Ahead, where he explores queer Appalachian identity through Mothman mythology.
