Phoebe joins Trans Crush to share her extraordinary story of growing up deaf, becoming an international male model, and eventually transitioning after years of hiding her identity. Born in New Zealand and later traveling the world through modeling in cities like Sydney, New York, Los Angeles, and Tokyo, Phoebe spent over a decade performing masculinity on camera while privately struggling with identity, addiction, and self-acceptance.
After getting sober and finding the courage to transition, she left everything behind and moved to London to start a completely new life. In this episode, Phoebe opens up about transitioning at 25, navigating the queer nightlife scene, DIY hormones, surviving family rejection, and rebuilding her life with the support of the trans community.
She also shares the emotional reality of growing up deaf, being bullied for femininity, and learning to trust herself after years of being told who she should be.
This is an honest conversation about identity, resilience, community, trauma, and what it means to finally live as your authentic self as a trans woman.
