Episode Summary
In the season four premiere of One Minute with Monee, host Monee sits down with Dr. Amaka Eneanya for an insightful conversation titled "Bold Transformation for Kidney Care – A Calling to Heal". Dr. Eneanya discusses her transition from an academic researcher to a healthcare executive, describing her mission to address health disparities as a deeply personal "calling".
The episode explores her groundbreaking work in eliminating the race-based variable from the EGFR kidney function equation—a policy change that has already moved over 23,000 Black patients up the national kidney transplant list.
Dr. Eneanya also introduces her new clinical model, Bold Nephrology Direct Care (Better Outcomes, Less Disease), which aims to transform how we treat the 37 million Americans living with chronic kidney disease by prioritizing prevention and patient empowerment.
To wrap up, Dr. Eneanya joins Monee for a "myth-buster" segment to share the truth about electrolytes, alkaline water, and how to use AI safely as a research assistant for your own wellness journey.
