What would change if we stopped keeping score—of ourselves and one another—and chose grace instead of judgment?
In this deeply reflective episode of the Beautiful Soul Podcast, Michanda Lindsey makes a powerful case for grace: the grace to make mistakes, to grow, to get back up, to release shame, and to recognize the divine essence that exists within ourselves and others.
The episode begins with an extended guided breathing meditation centered on presence, gratitude, release, and reconnecting with the wisdom of the inner heart. Michanda then explores the balance of being and doing, using the harmony of yin and yang and the natural rhythms of life as reminders that we were never meant to live constantly striving, comparing, judging, and dividing.
Through a moving reflection on the life and legacy of her grandfather—a man who lived nearly 101 years and whom her family cannot remember speaking badly about anyone—Michanda illustrates what grace can look like when it becomes a way of living.
She also reflects on the biblical story of Jesus and the woman facing condemnation, using it to explore one of the episode's central messages: we all fall, and grace is how we get back up.
Grace reminds us that our mistakes are not the entirety of who we are. Our pain is not our identity. Our shame does not have to become our permanent story. There is always more—more room to grow, more opportunity to heal, and more life waiting to be lived.
This episode invites us not only to extend grace to others, but to begin by receiving grace for ourselves.
