What happens when your life takes you somewhere you never planned to go? For Susan Rogers, a 20-year career in hospitality eventually led her into ministry, nonprofit leadership, and a calling to serve young people in North Baton Rouge.

In this episode, Susan shares the experiences that shaped her from growing up working in her family’s restaurant and becoming a teen mom, to building a career in the hotel industry and ultimately stepping into leadership at Empower 2 to 5. She opens up about the role of faith, relationships, and mentorship in her journey and how she learned to embrace leadership even when she didn't feel qualified for it.

Susan also takes us inside the work of Empower 2 to 5 and its mission to help young people escape cycles of poverty, homelessness, and violence.
