Podcast Description

WYSW is a podcast created by two neighbors who love movies but have very different perspectives on them.

Both Paul from Minnesota and Rafa from Panama have dipped their toes in their respective independent film circuit as directors, writers, producers, and even actors. As they've grown in their love of film, they've watched independent, arthouse, and classic movies fall by the wayside as they try to compete with the advent of IP.

WYSW aims to revitalize this love of unique and creative pictures through honest recommendations, biting discourse, lots of humor, and the occasional drink.

Content Themes

The podcast centers around themes of independent and arthouse cinema while juxtaposing them with mainstream offerings. Episode examples include a debate over Bram Stoker's Dracula versus Nosferatu in Episode 4, and a suggestion to revisit Fantastic Planet in lieu of contemporary films in Episode 2. Each episode underscores a unique focus on how classic films impact modern cinema.
