On episode 3 of Real Estate Carbon, I talk to John Lord, Energy Management Coordinator at Fairfax County Public Schools in Northern Virginia. John tells his fascinating story of going from energy manager in rural rural Amelia County School District in Virginia, moving to Loudoun County with a well established and respected energy management program (where his work was profiled by the Washington Post), to cleaning up an energy management program gone wrong upon moving to Fairfax County Schools.
Along the way John shares his team building work across custodial staff, students, and teachers. He talks through areas where confrontations flare up around energy management, how he manages energy at home, and much more.
