In this episode of Resilient King’s Podcast, I sit down with my brother, my friend, and longtime community mentor Raynaldo Green—or, as he prefers, just “Ray.” This conversation is real, raw, and full of powerful moments that I think many can relate to.
In our discussion, Ray opens up about what it was like growing up biracial—Black and Filipino—in the heart of Los Angeles. We talk about his experience navigating cultural identity, growing up in different neighborhoods, and what it was like to live with a mother struggling with mental illness. We also discuss how he found community through his friendships, how those relationships helped keep him grounded, and how he made the bold decision to attend Morehouse College—even though it meant leaving everything familiar behind.
This episode is about resilience, identity, and the power of choosing your own path. If you’ve ever felt torn between different parts of yourself or had to push through difficult family situations, Ray’s story will hit home.
