On this episode of The Audrey & Jeremy Show, Audrey and Jeremy sit down with Ella Stroup, Community Inclusion Coordinator at the Glenwood Housing Foundation, to talk about the power of inclusion, community, and creating meaningful opportunities for adults with intellectual disabilities.

Ella shares her journey into the disability community and the work she’s doing through Glenwood’s Coastal Crew, a collaboration with California State Parks that gives Glenwood residents opportunities to volunteer, explore nature, build new skills, and become active contributors within their community.

From beach cleanups and sensory gardens to adaptive outdoor recreation and working alongside State Parks employees, Coastal Crew is helping create stronger connections while breaking down barriers surrounding disability and accessibility. Ella also shares the research behind the program and what she has learned about belonging, independence, inclusion, and the importance of recognizing what people with disabilities are capable of.

Audrey and Jeremy also dive into what true inclusion looks like, why accessible outdoor spaces matter, and how organizations and communities can create more opportunities for people of all abilities to participate, contribute, and belong.

And, of course, they wrap things up with some fun—including elephants, sea turtles, dolphins, Hawaii, boats, and a few unexpected stories along the way.
