Podcast Description
Birthincolor is a digital miniseries created by the Florida Black Maternal Health Initiative to assist with the navigation of the journey before, during, and after pregnancy. It was as a curated resource designed specifically with African American and Black families in mind. In the weeks and months before Black Maternal Health Week, we will engage local experts in a dialogue tailored to the unique circumstances, socio-political climate and policies in Florida. Our objective is to increase knowledge and awareness of perinatal resources and support among Black expectant parents in Florida.

Episodes highlight critical issues such as engagement of healthcare providers, strategies for involving fathers in maternal health discussions, and barriers faced by Black mothers during pregnancy, with specific episodes discussing engaging male figures in reproductive justice and methods to improve healthcare participation.
