DiMattia’s Food Fight is more than a food podcast — it’s a fight for life
What started as a celebration of food and local culture has evolved into real conversations about recovery, resilience, identity, and the battles that shape who we become. Each episode dives into the stories behind the people — chefs, entrepreneurs, athletes, creators, and everyday fighters while using food as the common ground and life as the real opponent.
From bold, high-energy food episodes to deeply personal Fight for Life conversations, this podcast explores the wins, the losses, and everything in between. Addiction, mental health, reinvention, success, failure and nothing is off the table.
Based in Northeastern Pennsylvania, but rooted in universal struggle and growth, DiMattia’s Food Fight is about showing up, staying honest, and continuing to build — no matter what you’ve been through.
Because everyone is fighting something.
And some fights are worth sharing.
This week on the Food Fight Podcast, I sit down with country musician Joey Lannigan for a conversation that goes far beyond music.
Joey opens up about what it was like growing up in an orphanage, moving from place to place, and the experiences that helped shape the man he is today. We talk about how he eventually found a love for music, turned that passion into a career, and what it takes to keep chasing something you believe in.
I’ll be the first to admit — country music has never really been my thing. But I’ve always respected the lifestyle, the storytelling, and what the music represents. After sitting down with Joey, I walked away with an even greater appreciation for it.
This is a story about where you come from, what you overcome, and where you decide to go next.
Join the fight.
