DiMattia’s Food Fight is more than a food podcast — it’s a fight for life
What started as a celebration of food and local culture has evolved into real conversations about recovery, resilience, identity, and the battles that shape who we become. Each episode dives into the stories behind the people — chefs, entrepreneurs, athletes, creators, and everyday fighters while using food as the common ground and life as the real opponent.
From bold, high-energy food episodes to deeply personal Fight for Life conversations, this podcast explores the wins, the losses, and everything in between. Addiction, mental health, reinvention, success, failure and nothing is off the table.
Based in Northeastern Pennsylvania, but rooted in universal struggle and growth, DiMattia’s Food Fight is about showing up, staying honest, and continuing to build — no matter what you’ve been through.
Because everyone is fighting something.
And some fights are worth sharing.
This week on the Food Fight Podcast, I sit down with my cousin, Tony DiMattia, as he closes the book on an incredible 30-year run coaching Old Forge Blue Devils baseball.
We talk about growing up in the same neighborhood, the importance of family, and the memories that shaped us both in Old Forge. From local food favorites to stories from the ballfield, this episode is packed with nostalgia and hometown pride.
But the conversation goes deeper than baseball. Tony shares insights from his career working within the criminal justice system, where he has spent years helping people navigate addiction, incarceration, recovery, and the difficult road back into society. We discuss the realities of substance abuse, the revolving door many people face between addiction and jail, and what it takes to break that cycle.
A conversation about family, community, second chances, and the people who help guide others through some of life’s toughest battles.
⚾ Family. Baseball. Recovery. Real Talk. This is Blue Devil Food Fight.
