In this episode, we sit down with Salma, whose journey is anything but linear. From exploring different career paths to ultimately discovering her true calling in teaching, Salma’s story is one of courage, curiosity, and self-discovery.
After completing her teacher training at a school in Wales, she made a life-changing decision to relocate to Sudan – reconnecting with her roots and uncovering layers of her identity as a British-born Sudanese woman that she had never fully explored before.
It was there that she met her partner, an Italian man who would become her husband, and together they have built a life grounded in love, culture, and shared values. Salma opens up about the realities of cross-cultural marriage, and how they are intentionally raising their son to celebrate and embrace both sides of his heritage.
Now living in Thailand, Salma continues her teaching career while navigating the beautiful, transformative journey of motherhood. This episode is a heartfelt conversation about identity, belonging, love across cultures, and finding your path – even if it was the one you least expected.
