Welcome back to Behind the Shedd! In Episode 14, Harold, Russ, and Wade sit down with legendary singer and 60’s superstar, Dean Mathis. Dean is a singer, song writer, guitar and fiddle player, recent steel guitar player, but best known for his role in The Newbeats.
The Newbeatswere a 1960s American pop vocal trio, led by Larry Henley with Dean and his brother, Mark Mathis. They are best remembered for their hits “Bread and Butter” ( a song Dean chose and arranged) and “Run, Baby Run”
Harold and Dean’s friendship goes back to the beginning in Georgia when Dean was barely a teenager. Sit back and listen to these old friends share and swap stories Behind the Shedd.

Harold owned and operated the Music Mill Studio on Roy Acuff Place in Nashville and was later head of Mercury Records Nashville.
