We are continuing the deep dive into Illinois Cannabis Lawwith Eric Berlin, US and Global Team leader on Cannabis for the world’s largest law firm, Dentons. I am still slicing up this giant tray of brownies into easily consumable portions, or at least doing my best to try to do so. Eric has taken us through his personal and professional journey on the path to legalizing medical cannabis in episode 1 and episode 2 describes the hurdles businesses face in the marijuana industry with details on the links in this supply chain including details on products for better understanding. So if youhaven’t listened to those episodes, you really should! It will enhance what you hear in episode 3. But if you don’t have that kind of time, no worries. Still a ton of content but weare going deeper into the…..weeds. Get it? Eric Berlin gets into the particulars communities face with state laws and then how those communities choose to manage within the state mandates.
To truly grasp this, Mayor Bob Barnett of Downers Grove Illinois, hometown of this podcast, joined me for about 25 minutes to discuss how this village assessed and determined path forward with the stages of legalized marijuana in this community and we spliced that in here for you.
Then we return to Eric going deep into the challenges of the banking industry when doing business with the cannabis industry!
