Alex Gilhart grew up spectating many races with his family at a very early age. At the age of 4 he got the opportunity to wave a flag in the flag stand one night at the former State Park Speedway. You could say that moment was the start of it all for Alex. Greg McKarns gave him his first real flagging opportunity at Madison International Speedway. Once he got started it didn’t take long for Alex to fill his calendar and start working with more tracks and with other series that would total up to around 60 events a year. Flagging hasn’t been his only role; Alex has been performed race director duties and also served as General Manager at Angell Park Speedway. At the end of 2025, Alex was names Series Director for the ASA Midwest Tour starting in the 2026 race season.
