For nearly four decades, Mark Irwin has been one of Nashville's most respected and successful songwriters, crafting unforgettable country hits that have topped the charts and become part of country music history.
Originally from the Northeast, Mark moved to Nashville in 1987 with dreams of making his mark on Music Row. His first major recording came when Randy Travis cut his Christmas song, ”Meet Me Under the Mistletoe.” But it was his collaboration with a young Alan Jackson that would help launch an extraordinary songwriting career.
Mark co-wrote ”Here in the Real World,” the title track from Alan Jackson's breakthrough debut album. The song became Jackson's first Top 10 country hit and earned two CMA Song of the Year nominations, an ACM Song of the Year nomination, and the 1990 Music City News Song of the Year award.

Mark's talents have even reached Hollywood, with one of his songs recorded by Gwyneth Paltrow for the film Country Strong.
From the Bluebird Café to the World's Biggest Country Stars
Before becoming an established hitmaker, Mark worked as a bartender at Nashville's legendary Bluebird Café, where countless aspiring songwriters have shared their music and launched their careers.
His connection to this iconic Nashville venue eventually brought him full circle when he was featured in the documentary Bluebird, which celebrates the intimate listening room and its extraordinary influence on country music.
Beyond his chart-topping successes, Mark continues to collaborate with established performers and emerging artists, helping shape the next generation of Nashville songwriting.
