Somehow, Sepang returned! Formula 1 last raced here in 2017, when a young Max Verstappen claimed only his second Grand Prix victory. Since then, fans have been calling for it to be reinstated on the calendar, and finally 9 years later it is back, this time playing host to the Bahrain Grand Prix. This was Hermann Tilke's first circuit design for F1 and features fast punishing corners as well as the iconic straights around the stunning parasol-esque grandstand.
It was perhaps ironic that whilst Sakhir has never featured rain being in a desert, Sepang is renowned for it's frequent tropical monsoon's. It was almost certain therefore that rain would play a part in the weekend, but I don't think anyone expected what we saw when it did arrive! A chaotic Grand Prix requires a chaotic review, so Perry is joined by James (a new guest) and Luis for this one. A wild review ensued!
