EPISODE #4. My guest is Mark Orton, composer, producer, and musician. As a film composer, he is probably best known for his original scores for the Academy Award-nominated film Nebraska (2013) and the Academy Award-winning The Holdovers (2023), both directed by Alexander Payne.
As a musician, he is a founding member of the San Francisco-based Tin Hat chamber music group. He’s also done incredible work on dozens of This American Life episodes, and a wide array of fascinating podcasts.
I was very fortunate to work with Mark on the score for The True History of OZ promotional video – we co-wrote and co-produced it.
