Interviews with artists about their creative process
After a brief hiatus due to crazy busy lives all round, the podcast that chats to artists is back! This time we have the fabulous Lucy McElroy – a former art teacher turned full time portrait artist. I went out to speak to Lucy in her gorgeous garden studio in a village just outside Lincoln, where we were only slightly disturbed by her lovely dog Coco!
Lucy takes us through the process of working on amazing commissions of people’s loved ones, how she handles the intense pressure to create an exact likeness of the clients nearest and dearest, and what she likes to work on when she isn’t making art to others very specific requirements.
Lucy’s exhibition at Indigo Crow gallery will run from July 8th-20th, all the details on our website – www.indigocrowgallery.com.
Lucy’s work can be found on Instagram: @lucy.mcelroy.artist or on her website: www.lucymcelroy.co.uk.
If you want to check out my work, I hang out here: @hannahasbtarcts.
Enjoy!
Thanks as always to Michael Kheng and once again Mel Langton rode to the rescue with some crucial tech support! Thanks guys!
