Podcast Description

Drive Time Lincoln is hosted by Jack Mitchell, who has also served as KLIN's morning show host since 2006. Since it's nearly impossible to follow the news all day long, Jack will spend the first half of each show, from 5-5:30 p.m. on the 'Whiparound', a segment designed to get you up to speed on what you missed during your busy day. Whatever that day's most impactful stories are, Jack will report, explain, discuss, and ask questions about them in a fast-moving daily breakdown that you'll be able to tune into at any time and during your drive or at home and get a lot of information in a short amount of time, all presented with Jack's brand of energy, humor knowledge of this city and area, its history, its culture, its people, its institutions, its disagreements, and its common experiences. The Whiparound will also feature the resources and work of the KLIN Newsroom, whether it be exclusive reporting, audio clips so you can hear what happened firsthand, breaking news alerts, and live hits with Mark Vail, Chase Porter, Tom Stanton, Chris Lofgreen and Nate Rohr. Every day isn't the same, and every day's most important news isn't the same. While local government and politics are often the story of the day, sometimes your world is most affected by whether a storm is coming, what's happening with your kids in school, when that road is going open, what there is to do this weekend, what that new business in town is, or what that app everyone is using does. Jack will cover it all, and will do so with resources, people and reporting of the KLIN newsroom.

For the second half of the show, just after 5:30 p.m., Jack will be joined by an interview guest every day. These discussions with local elected officials, agency heads, community leaders, newsmakers, interesting people, weathermen and women, experts on issues and subjects we're not experts on, media members, coaches, athletes, people from the world of local entertainment and fine art and beyond will take you further in-depth into the local news, issues, and events that you care about.

Finally, as he does on the morning show, Jack will interact with listeners throughout the show on the Summit Lawns Text line, which you can use to communicate directly to Jack at 402-479-1400. In the final segment Jack will share reaction from listeners to the day's topics.

Listen to Drive Time Lincoln every weekday afternoon from 5-6 p.m. on 1400 & 99.3 KLIN.
