Group Guidelines

Welcome to the Podcast Collaborative Facebook Group! Our mission is to foster a heart-centered community where podcasters and aspiring guests can Connect, Collaborate and Grow together. To ensure a positive and productive environment for all members we’ve establish the following detailed guidelines.

We’re here to help you make the most of this group. Please see below for how to participate and how to get your post approved.

But first, we wanted to make sure that you’re set up for success . . .

As you participate in this group, it can be difficult to keep track of all your connections. We’ve made it easy for you by creating tracking templates for both hosts and guests. If you would like to INSTANTLY get organized, opt in at these links:

Hosts – Grab your free Tracking Template here.

Guests – Grab your free Tracking Template here.

These templates are normally part of the Podcast Collab Club membership but we’ve made them available as a free introductory gift for you now. ❤️

The guidelines below are in place to keep the group of high quality for everyone. Thank you in advance for helping to make this group great!

COMMUNITY GUIDELINES:

1- Kindness, Value, and Community Standards

We are all here to create a welcoming and supportive environment. To maintain this atmosphere:

Respect and Kindness: Treat every member with the respect and kindness you would like to receive. Harassment, discrimination, or unkind behavior will not be tolerated.

Providing Value: Focus on offering genuine value to others. Share your knowledge, experiences, and support to help fellow members succeed.

Service-Oriented Mindset: This group is for those who want to be of service to others. Approach interactions with a mindset of generosity and collaboration.

Relevancy and Commitment: Ensure your contributions are relevant to the group’s purpose. Before responding to requests, read them thoroughly to confirm you’re a good fit and can provide real value. Honor any commitments you make to other members promptly and professionally.

Community Quality and Enforcement: Preserving the quality of our community is paramount. We actively enforce these guidelines to maintain a positive space. Members who violate the rules may be removed or blocked without notice. We reserve the right to remove posts or comments that do not align with these standards.

2. Use Appropriate Hashtags

To keep the group organized and help members find relevant content, please start your post with one of the following hashtags:

#BEAGUEST – Offering Yourself as a Guest

  • Purpose: Use this tag when you’re looking to appear as a guest on other members’ podcasts.
  • Guidelines: Focus on your expertise, experience, and the value you can bring to a podcast. You may attach a one-sheet as an image to provide a snapshot of your credentials. Include one link to a previous speaking engagement or podcast appearance. Clearly outline the topics you are knowledgeable about and passionate to discuss.
  • Restrictions: Do not include promotional links, business names, websites, book titles, product names, or any self-promotional content beyond what’s specified.

#FINDAGUEST – Seeking Guests for Your Podcast

  • Purpose: Use this tag when you’re looking to find guests for your own podcast.
  • Guidelines: Provide details about your podcast, including the themes and topics you cover. Include the name of your podcast. You may include your podcast link and a guest application link if applicable. Specify the type of guests you’re seeking and any particular areas of expertise.
  • Restrictions: Do not include additional links or promotional content beyond what’s specified.

#COLLAB – Looking for Collaboration Opportunities

  • Purpose: Use this tag to seek mutually beneficial collaborations within the community.
  • Guidelines: Clearly describe the collaboration opportunity and how it benefits both parties. Co-hosting events, joint ventures, or collaborative content creation as well as speaking opportunities, summits and so forth.
  • Restrictions: Promotional or self-serving posts that do not offer mutual benefit are not allowed.

#ADVICE – Seeking or Offering Podcasting Advice

  • Purpose: Use this tag to ask for or share advice related to podcasting.
  • Guidelines: Share experiences, tips, best practices, or ask specific questions. Ensure your post adds value to the community and fosters learning.
  • Restrictions: Do not include self-promotional content or solicitations.

3. Post Frequency

To keep the group fresh and diverse, please adhere to the following posting frequency guidelines:

Wait at least 7 days between your #FINDAGUEST, #COLLAB posts.

Wait at least 21 days between your #BEAGUEST, #ADVICE posts.

Please respect these intervals to give all members equal opportunity to share and to prevent the group from being overwhelmed with repetitive content.

4. Use Dedicated Threads

We have designated threads for specific types of promotions and interactions. Please use them accordingly:

  • Mondays: Pod-Swap Thread: Advertise your willingness to swap podcast guest appearances with other members.
  • Tuesdays: Podcast Promotion Thread: Promote your podcast to the community.
  • Thursdays: Member Collaboration Episode Thread: Share episodes that you’ve recorded with fellow group members.
  • Fridays: Social Media Promotion Thread: Promote one of your social media handles to connect with others outside the group.

Note: Posts promoting these items outside of the designated threads may not be approved.

5. Fees and Requirements Not Permitted

Opportunities posted in the group must be free of charge and without participation requirements:

  • No Fees: Do not post opportunities that require others to pay a fee, such as charging guests to appear on your podcast.
  • No Mandatory Requirements: Do not impose unfair participation requirements that could exclude members.
  • Transparency: Be upfront about what the opportunity entails without hidden costs or obligations.
  • Exceptions: If you believe your opportunity provides exceptional value but involves fees or requirements, please contact an admin for approval before posting.

Important: If your strategy includes converting guests into clients, please refrain from participating in this group, as it does not align with our community values.

6. No Inappropriate Promotion

To maintain the group’s focus and integrity, please adhere to the following:

  • No Self-Promotion: Do not promote your own services, products, podcasts, books, freebies, or social media channels outside of designated threads.
  • No Unsolicited Links: Avoid posting unsolicited links, especially those that lead to sales pages or promotions.
  • No Spam: Refrain from repetitive or irrelevant posting that could be considered spam.
  • No Unapproved Affiliate Links: Affiliate marketing is not permitted unless explicitly approved by an admin.
  • No Unsolicited Direct Messages (DMs): Do not send DMs to members without their permission. If you wish to connect privately, comment on their post requesting permission first.

Rules for Podcast/PR Services and Courses:

If you offer podcasting or PR services, courses, or related topics:

  • Do Not Seek Clients or Customers: This group isn’t a marketplace for acquiring clients.
  • No Promotion of Offers or Freebies: Do not promote your services, offers, freebies, or lead magnets.
  • No Mention of Services: Avoid mentioning your services or what you do anywhere in the group, including in comments or discussions.
  • No Unsolicited DMs: Do not message members to promote your services.
  • Exception: You may contact an admin to discuss potential collaborations or contributions that align with the group’s values and provide significant benefit to members.

Non-Compliance: Posts violating these rules will not be approved and may be removed.

7. No Lead Conversion Strategies

Our community values genuine connections over transactional relationships:

  • No Client Conversion Tactics: Do not use the group to convert podcast guests or members into clients.
  • No Lead Generation Strategies: Refrain from employing tactics such as offering freebies, conducting email swaps, or other methods aimed at collecting leads.
  • Focus on Collaboration: Engage with members to build authentic relationships and collaborative opportunities without ulterior motives.
  • Transparency: Be honest about your intentions when interacting with other members.

8. G-Rated Content

We strive to make this group a safe and inclusive space for everyone, including younger members:

  • Suitable for All Audiences: All content must be appropriate for members of all ages (we have a 12-year-old podcaster in the group!).
  • Professionalism: Maintain a professional tone in all posts, comments, and images.
  • Avoid Inappropriate Content: Do not share content that is explicit, offensive, or otherwise unsuitable for a general audience.
  • Language Use: Use respectful and appropriate language at all times.

9. Stay On Topic

To keep the group focused on its core purpose:

  • No Debates or Opinion Sharing: This is not the place for debates or sharing personal opinions on non-podcasting topics.
  • Avoid Sensitive Topics: Do not initiate discussions on political topics, current events, religion, or other sensitive subjects.
  • Podcast Content Discussions: If you wish to discuss the content of podcasts (e.g., themes, topics, opinions), consider doing so within your podcast or in appropriate forums outside this group.
  • Comments and Replies: Keep comments and replies relevant to the original post and avoid diverting the conversation to unrelated topics.

10. Enforcement and Rights

To maintain a high-quality community experience:

  • Rule Enforcement: We actively monitor the group and enforce these guidelines to ensure a positive environment.
  • Content Removal: We reserve the right to remove any posts or comments that violate these guidelines without prior notice.
  • Member Removal: Members who violate the rules may be removed or blocked from the group without warning.
  • No Liability: We assume no liability for any damages arising from participation in this group. The information provided is for general purposes and not professional advice.
  • Agreement: By participating in this group, you agree to abide by these guidelines and our Terms of Use.

HOW TO POST YOUR REQUEST:

To ensure your posts are approved and reach the right audience, please follow these guidelines:

  1. Create a New Separate Post: Introduce yourself with the appropriate hashtag (see Rule 2).
  2. Include Details: Provide specifics about the speaking opportunity or the value you offer as a guest etc.
  3. Avoid Vague Posts: Posts lacking sufficient detail may be declined.
  4. Wait for Approval: Posts need to be approved by an admin before appearing in the group. Due to high volume, there may be a delay.

HOW TO RESPOND TO REQUESTS:

As mentioned above, before responding in the comments, it is important that you read the request thoroughly to make sure that you meet the relevant requirements/background and that you are a good fit. Even better, do some research to ensure you are in alignment with each other (ie. check out social media profiles, listen to an episode of the podcast, etc.) Please do not respond to a request unless you are certain that you are able to add value to the audience, etc. This makes the group much more valuable and efficient for all members.
